A bit more about the drams:
The star of the night is our Barrel & Batch single cask, aged for 9 years in a first fill bourbon cask. This expression, part of the Bruichladdich Micro-Provenance series, is a rich and complex whisky that delivers an exceptional tasting experience. Distilled from concerto barley and bottled after 9 years, this bourbon cask has developed into a whisky that’s thick, full of flavour, and incredibly well-rounded.
You’ll also have the chance to taste our 10-year-old single cask—aged in a 2nd fill Jurançon cask at cask strength, a rare gem that adds another layer of depth to the evening.
Here’s the full whisky line-up for the night:
- Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013
- Bruichladdich 18 Year
- Bruichladdich Black Art 10.1
- Bruichladdich Black Art 11.1
- Barrel & Batch 10-Year-Old Single Cask, 2nd Fill Jurançon Cask Strength
- Barrel & Batch 9-Year-Old Single Cask, 1st Fill Bourbon Cask at Cask Strength
Our third release from the Micro-Provenance series revisits our first release, focusing on another bourbon cask—Cask #0639, distilled on February 18, 2013, and bottled on February 14, 2023. Just shy of a 10-year maturation, this whisky is ready when it’s ready, and it delivers in every way. With a nose of lemon custard, vanilla, and citrus zest, the palate unfolds with honey, caramel, and a sharp, bright oak character, followed by chocolate digestive biscuits, zesty lime, and apple puree. The finish is long, complex, and satisfying, with toasted oak, vanilla, and a touch of cacao.
